Laughing At

I just cannot believe
The way you both deceived
And now you’re laughing at me

You know what you did was wrong
Behind his hand he sniggers long
And you’re both laughing at me

You lied right to my face
You and him in an embrace
And you’re both laughing at me

But he left you all alone
Left you standing on your own
And I’m laughing at you

He saw you were the cheating kind
Someone nicer he did find
And I’m laughing at you

I met someone who could be true
Someone who told me “I love you”
And I’m laughing at you

Maybe one day we both will find
A time and place where we can be kind
And I won’t laugh at you or you at me

When we’re older more mature
In our love lives more secure
And I won’t laugh at you or you at me

When it’s all over and we both have won
Found and married the perfect one
And perhaps we’ll laugh together you and me

Quite a journey you take us on here, who would think laughter would be the source of so much pain. Well written heartfelt piece Owen.
