That Place

Have you ever longed to go
to the place, “oh, I don’t know”
where never is already over
and the things missing, you discover
were done yesterday.
Where contempt is color blind
and shades and gray, oh my,
are better left behind intangible myriads
of wasted day-----the why of which
eludes me!!!. While the illusions
of truth, weigh heavy in cognizant
apparitions alluding to the
piercing light of righteousness
from the source, always just out of sight.
Yet in plain view of the few who
need him to be there and ready
to pick them up from the pits, of
“oh, I don’t know”- but I know they
are there waiting. Get a life?
No, we had a life and blew it.
Give the baby a chance. He won’t
fight it. Give the squirrel and the tree
a chance, they will delight in it.
Give the day and the light a chance.
The grey evening won’t miss
being as dead as we are.
Give life a chance.
and love, and peace.
yes, and love.

Hullo, Chas. I really enjoyed reading this poem, yet ironically I am finding a deserving comment to be just outside the edges of my periphery....which in itself partially reflects how I felt while reading this poem. Hmmm, your poetic voice is much different here; for this conceptual piece. Very neat to see from you. The ending is perfect for this poem.

Charles, this is wondrous. I love the flow of the pen that seems to be written as if a day dream---but as you allude, a cognizant one. I see what Deb's saying about running on a tad and perhaps she's correct but from another view isn't that what minds do when we "don't know really" and I think, in a way, that train of thought brings to light your musings and there is some magic in some of the wondering and mixing of thoughts and words. Thank You for sharing.

this is really cool writing, Charles. Very pondering. You know, I was thinking as I read it, this has many one syllable words in it. Except for a few longer words, it could be in that contest of David's!!
