On The Edge Of A Dream

An opaline dream:
the room is a pearl filled bowl
and moonstone-moulded.
Bright beads of day roll away;
night is crystal-crowned with stars.

    How did I miss this gorgeous winner in Andrea's contest?! The imagery here is outstanding. Opals and moonstones are my favourite stones, so I especially love "opaline dream" and "moonstone-moulded." (P.S. Thank you for your sweet comment on my poem about Canadian poets - It made me smile!)

Re a personal poem: A tanka (as I understand it) is an observation, which brings to mind personal experience/time/place/situation, thereby making it often sound disjointed...It's wholy subjective; oposed to a haiku which is objective.     Tanka has been likened to singing the blues and, also, to an entry in a personal diary. :-) It is one of my favourite poetry forms.
