About This Poem

Make Way for the Dolphins and Whales -

today
we don't think
therefore we are not
descartes is dead and gone
machines and computers work and think for us
our minds are shrinking, withering and decaying from lack of exercise

...A rather feeble attempt at Su's poetry form...
Okay Su, lay it on me! I'm tough...I can take it! (but I may retire to my bedroom to whimper and whine if you don't like it)

Tim - Form be damned. It's the poem that counts and you've delved deep into the human condition. love, Kathy

Answering the question regarding the syllable count: Any mix of prime number syllable count per line - and the poem must contain a philosophical statement (new, old or borrowed...). I love the comment about Descartes (popular quote: "I think, therefore I am") being dead and gone - much like our ability or inclination to think for ourselves now a days. Your headnote is intriguing. :-) Love this poem, Tim, and you might consider expanding on it. I hope that you would pen more. Love, Su

Descartes views show that there is an answer for everything if one would only stop and find the rationalization in the matter . His ultimate view on rationalization comes in the form of priori . Priori means that it is not based on sensory information. So, what is left if we discard our senses? A void needs to be filled and it would be great if you could elaborate on your title of your poem :-)

Yes, Suzette Prime is deceptive in so much as it appears to be easy to formulate, but to be coherent through out the poem without resorting to "gushy" sentiment, is tricky.

Are the syllables in each line supposed to add up to a prime sequentially? If so this would be a very hard poem to construct. I applaud your effort. Great job.
