About This Poem
A Dread Has Come Creeping
Upon me now, a dread has come creeping.
Dreamless, I’m lying awake in my bed.
Into my very bones it is sinking.
Upon me now, a dread has come creeping.
If I only could, I should be weeping,
But I arise to write this poem instead.
Upon me now, a dread has come creeping.
Dreamless, I’m lying awake in bed.
Woke up early this morning with three poems all at once in
my head! Only one was for a contest, very unusual for me.
This one not for any contest. Just stress in my life right now!
