About This Poem

Monet's Poppy Field

One late afternoon

Off in the distance you could hear their giggles

Mother and child

Umbrellas draw shade as the scarlet poppies

Decorate their hearts-imaginations run wild

*Poem based on Monet’s famous oil painting, “Poppy Field"
