Echoes of Love

Echoes of Love Today when I looked into your eyes I couldn’t see your love’s reflection there I tried so hard to see the spark ignite Instead, I saw was an empty stare I tried to sense the warmth when I held you Though coldness took its place Your body was lifeless as if it knew I’ve already been replaced I tried to feel the fire in your kiss That used to leave the flames to burn Though all I felt was something that I missed A love we once shared that will never return I tried to hear the passion in your voice The moment you said my name Instead, I only heard echoes of love once enjoyed Times we lived in a lover’s flame Today I said goodbye Not to you out loud but through my soul Because it was there that you and I, Were supposed to be together and never grow old Just a made up poem, not personal.
