About This Poem
Where It's Safe For Them
There is a place where children stay
In a virtual Neverland
Where it’s safe for them to play
Happiness at their command
And broccoli that tastes like cheese
In a virtual Neverland
Clouds that you can grab and squeeze
That taste just like marshmallows
And broccoli that tastes like cheese
Lots of laughing funny fellows
Riding unicycles and juggling balls
That taste just like marshmallows
They giggle so hard they trip and fall
And they never ever get hurt
Riding unicycles and juggling balls
It’s important that I reassert
There is a place where children stay
And they never ever get hurt
Where it’s safe for them to play
a child runs laughing
now barefoot in the meadow—
can she hear us cry?
