David - The title alone makes me shudder. I think this is the last day of funerals and I hope our town will be quiet again for the families although it will be too quiet. The faces of the children and teachers will hang on but not with laughter. You've gotten to the horrible suddenness while the world around that school went on. Your three last lines are so painful. love, Kathy

On the same day, approx the same time, another madman over in China stabbed 22 children outside of their school, just as they were arriving. Before he went to the school, he entered the home of an elderly woman, and killed her in her home. (does all this sound too familiar?)The horrors are getting the best of me.

Wow this is a very powerful write my friend! It is so sad what happened in Newtown CT, I can hardly believe that this happened, and to such young, innocent children! I shed tears for their families, the trauma they are going through, and for the other young children that survived and must live with this occurrence! Your poem has been done masterfully, I love your tenderness you used within you piece! I really enjoyed reading this sad toned write, written very perfectly! Great Work!!

I'm the least of the pain here David I am trying not to dwell on what I can have no impact on or controll over. Hopefully soon there will be some formal way to help the survivors, hopefully a place to donate. Thank you dear for worrying over me..how are you doing? L & L
