Sinking

Subdued sorrow
seeps from swollen eyes,
and severed sobs
stab into the surrounding
silence.
I'm suffocating in a sea
of separation,
struggling to stay
afloat but I'm
sinking fast.
Somebody save me
before it swallows
me whole.

I can feel the angst and dispair with every line. I am certain we have all been here before- but I assure you- with the clarity spoken in your words of this gorgeous poem- I am certain you will thrive and make it out alive! :)

Poignant write Katie! I like the imagery used. The way you've used the sea to signify the depth of feeling caused by separation and the despair brought out in the sinking - brilliantly done. The angst is clearly defined. Very well done.
