Beautiful Lies

Because of eyes as warm as honey, I was melting, but the love I first believed was shown me in his gaze was but a lie. He uttered not a word; I was deceived! He leaned in for that first romantic kiss. I melted more; my heart did somersaults. How easily that man could bring me bliss. But I would learn his luscious lips were false! His gorgeous body, hard, pressed into me. I felt his fingers softly touch my skin. I totally dissolved! How cleverly he’d worked unspoken lies on me again! That young man with his beautiful brown eyes at last destroyed me with his beautiful lies. English Sonnet written 12/14/12 (late at night as most of my sonnets are!) for the Beautiful Lies Poetry Contest of craig cornish and now for PD's contest

Funny, Seren! I exaggerated this poem and if I could name any one guy this poem describes, he is so far away in my past I would not even know how to find him so you and Mandy could beat him up for me!haha

We all have been victims of CUPID, this winged-tyrant of our hearts. He leaves us something though: The moment we believed in and the poems we write afterwards. Wonderful suffering that the sweet arrows of CUPID had in store for us. Marvelous poem! Thank you.

mine was a blue-eyed liar. great entry for the contest Andrea. ( Honey is working out fine, she still has trust issues , but she very rarely hisses or bites anymore, only if you make a sudden move that scares her a lot)

Wow! An amazing Sonnet. I wish you success in the Contest. The story of a lustful and licentious youth is beautifully narrated. Thanks for visiting my poem The Aging Tree. I am glad you like it. Love. -Mohammad

Young love is filled with it's trevails. It's not a wonder that it fails. Each coin has sides no one can win. Imagine if he had a twin. Good luck in the contest Andrea. Certainly kicked it through the uprights. Peace.

Dear Andrea, Congratulations, may I be the first to say. Hope this finds YOU and YOURS Healthy and High in the Spirit. A man such as this could also destroy me, if one believes this Exceptional Write to be a ""Universal""Experience" That all men tell lies. Do YOU really LOVE Someone if YOU would lie to them. I never did. Ask Lenore. LOVE YOU ALWAYS and FOREVER YOUR Eternal Liege...Harry
