My Heart's Still Beating

Running back to arms forgotten
You look at me and expect a
kiss
Well look at me
Tell me what you see
Do you see affection
The way it should be?

My heart is still beating
But there's a ghost in its place
I still desire you
Although I stand in unreason
And I still dream of you
I dream of a love no longer
poisoned

Turning back to nights of
weeping
The wounds still bleeding
Again im grieving
Behind a smile on my face

Although I'm screaming
My insides are paralyzed
But my heart's still beating
With your ghost in its place

All the days go by so lonely
All I do is cry for you

The sun is glaring
Sweat is beading
My eyes are staring
Into comforts of the past

Why were we so cruel
Why were we so afraid
When only fear ruled
And now that fear stands alone
at last
But I don't need you

My heart still beats
Without you in it
