Stories Told by the Wrong Mouth

I can see their eyes follow me,
and trace my every move.
They say theyre never judging me,
but their eyes tell me the truth.

Theyre words always filled with venom,
poisoning my peaceful days.
My heart is slowly filled with their venom,
yet still they wonder why Im angry.

They always whisper what they want to see,
never telling the story right.
When they look at me they never see,
all the gentle beauty in my soul.

Many times I wish to run away,
but my past always seems to follow.
Sometimes I want to throw my life away,
but I'm too strong for that.
