About This Poem

Cheater

O cheater of death,
Thou thief of breath.
Scarlet kisses upon chilled lips
Cynosures blood laboriously drips
Akin sand runs through fingers
Frozen exquisite taste lingers
Opalescent teeth glistens.
Mine tempoed heart, listens
O trepidation wilt evermore stay,
Fear but a heart beat away.
Immortal slumbers sorrow,
Kept eternal till 'morrow
Rest now mine lover,
Eternity we'll uncover.
Winter's tomb in unblessed ground,
Slowly thou heart finds no sound.
Sadly thee I bid Adieu,
Evanescence thou re-awaken anew.
