North by North West

     North by North West

In the wee hours of the morning
Asleep as if dead
Transported north by north west
From the middle of my bed

In the dark of the night
Upon the ramparts of a dam , I stand
A country of great power and might
And no one to lend me a hand

Dark clouds rising, tremble with fear
For in the path of the dam, lies a large population
So far away, with no one to hear
This is no hallucination

Grab a rope, swing down
To the right, run to the hills
As the muddy waters roar towards the people, all drown
It gives me chills
