I was too young to participate in this one. You have described everything quite well with your word usage.

'your easy smile to never see again'..This line captured the softest spot of my heart..To say forever goodbye how hard it is ..and to say goodbye to someone who died at war..much harder. So much truth in your ironic message..'the poor..the black...etc'.We might think all changed yet somehow it never did.

Scary, how we somehow survived Vietnam...oh yes, I went to jail for a while keeping a dear friend safe from the draft! And he never came back in bloody pieces either..May I invite yu to read some of my poems remembering Vietnam..? They are mixed in with my posted ones..try The Telegram...Love to a kindred spirit..Elizabeth Landon-Lane
