The Betrayal

You said you loved me
showed me affection and passion,
but here I am yearning for a relationship,
yet you struggle in an attempt
to taste the flame of my inner soul,
whilst I cherish all that, that is sacred.
Your insensitive scorn is an abomination
when you took my innocence
like that of a tender bloom and fed me
a hurricane of hate
those that bamboozle one’s head,
stabs at a lonely heart.

YOu did really well with these words of Dalilah's, harry. I struggled a bit and then got going. I think you incorporated them just right. It was an interesting challenge, don't you think?

first to respond to what you commented on the yellow rose. I wrote that a long time ago for my poetry mentor I met in 2001 when I was starting out. She was such a good friend until one day she decided to quit poetry and return to her painting. I never heard from her again. a very strange thing to do and I will never understand that a best friend could do that to his/her friend!
