Home is West Virginia
West Virginia is a real country state,
To have beans and cornbread on your supper plate.
To kick your shoes off and come on in,
To have a buddy to call a childhood friend.
To play horseshoes in the evening sun,
To go barefooted in the creek and have lots of fun.
We might talk funny like down yonder,
We don't care what we wear and ponder.
Eating biscuits and gravy with fried taters,
A large big garden with big red tomatoes.
To have a old red bone dog that we call Fred,
To carry our bible every Sunday that is read.
West Virginia is great hometown to rest your feet,
Is the most greatest people you will ever meet.
