About This Poem

Scarred

smoke mushrooms up and out

stubble, grass, weeds - cower

metamorphous into clouds

bringing hope for rain

implements scratch the ground

to sow what could become

almost a saviour - but not really

thunderclaps herald

soothing moisture

for scars on the ground
