Nothing like Warmth

The storm blew in with a gale force strength
It whirled and swirled winters snow
 The temperature started to plunge
And ice crystals could be seen in the air
The cold chilled right down to the bone
Shaking the warmth from the very soul
Flesh would freeze in minutes if exposed
The fingers become so numb and blue
You try to find warmth within your breath
Only it seems the lungs are protesting too
The mouth starts to chatter and lips turn blue
At this point you head indoors for warmth
As the heat hits your fingers it feels prickly
The lungs recover fast and the color returns
The storm blew in with a gale force
Time to find a bed of warmth.

Very touching excellent poem written by a very good poet. I saw that you view another poet named Margherita Russo she's only 14 and I know it would mean alot for her to have you read her newest poem if you have the time. Thank you very much.

Phyllis, I rarely check out that part of Soup: featured poems. I never felt it was significant because when it featured my stuff, for example,it never showed my best poems. I know some folks enjoyed it. I hope you find it. I will let you know if I come across it, ok? Have an awesome weekend. Luv, Andrea
