Gail, Uplifting, happy, sad, and hopeful all at once. I pray this story will have an ending someday soon that will lift us all to a happier place--I'm sure that with your love and faith it will happen.

Gail, I remember this one and am so glad to see it scored high in the contest. Unlike mine, it is a TRUE story and so deserving of the win. Still keeping your son in my prayers too.

Gail, this is simply wonderfully honest in the way you told the story. A fond memory amidst rough time, that is the best kind of fond memory. I still remember your boy when you talked about him and pray for him when he enters my thoughts. Luv, Andrea

Such a moving story of love. The spiritual far outweighs the temporal. His love for you and his love for Christ are eternal. His current situation is temporal. And you have the love of God and your son in your heart which is eternal. And the sadness you feel now is only temporal. Thank you for sharing this lovely poem. God Bless.
