The Diamond

Please don't hold the diamond back
In serpent metaphor
Examine its fiery facets
Gaze into its icy core
Consider if you can
The plan
Its costly bite
The bane of man

I would be the lucky guy. But sadly no, I am not such a lucky guy. it's just a poem for the "Fire and Ice" contest. And I love all of God's creatures so I worked one into this poem. Thank you so much for visiting and commenting on my poem.

I didn't even see your comment when I submitted the comment below to Anne Lise and it showed up on your screen. This has happened to me about 3 or 4 times now. I can't figure out why.

Thank you Anne Lise. Now you are a diamond to be cherished and held close. Your husband is a very lucky man. P.S. Your daughter is another diamond from the same vein.
