Oil lamps and candles

Oil lamps and candles
Used to guide men through the night
Shelved by electric light bulbs
And now a novel form of light

Unique hand crafted metal works
Were the smith's and owners pride
Until electric power tools
Swept that trade aside

Brute force had been the mainstay
Of ships in locomotion
Until fuels replaced that form
To power ships across the ocean

We're now in the atomic age,
Approaching the midnight hour,
Trying to harness for good and bad
Its radioactive power

Hi Jon I like short poems like this to, Straight to the point. Are there any more trades to sweep aside, No I would have loved to been around when thousands of people worked. No machinery just people employed crafting

Caste not your ashen shadows on the wall, let blood filled life yet remain, impress me with the bloom of cherry blossum, not the ashen shae of pain....Light & Love

Yeah, we are moving on. But I hope we still remember to use those things and remember the past. That is who we are. We can't be who we are if we don't know how we come to be. Enjoyed. Have an awesome week, Jon. Love ya, Toquyen

From then to now; from what to how all done up with a wonderful tale from our history. Still love candles, they do so much for romance! :) Special!
