Moved

facing the first time
her wheel-chaired son on the move
saddest vale of tears

driving his wheelchair
his face splashes happiness
enjoying his ride

watching two people
having their own point of view
I can relate to

we meet now and then
all those years I saw his smile
ten inspiring years

an impressive guy
cleaning his second wheelchair
for tomorrows ride

Note: 11.30.2012: message from his wife: "I did not expect my husband to be "on the internet' in such a unusual and also very special way. You have touched me very deeply with your poignant poem. Thank you so very much."

If someone is so much moved by a poem he actually writes the poet(ess) HOW MUCH he or she was moved.......... than that poem has earned it's place in a heart......... it is the greatest accolade a poet(ess) ever can achieve - you can't buy it anywhere! TY for taking the time to read and comment my work. Greetings from the Netherlands. :+) Ellie Daphne

This poem has moved me as well. You have shown me that a man though wheelchair bound that his spirit doesn't have to be. Thank you for sharing your poem.
