Mom
I remember her early breakfasts,
and tying my shoes up tight;
I remember her goodnight kisses,
and tucking me in at night.
I remember her doing up my raincoat,
and sending me off to school;
I remember only her gentle touch,
and never anything cruel.
I remember when she held me,
when my first love broke my heart;
And remember her words of wisdom,
when I thought my world would fall apart.
I remember how she would laugh at herself,
and take things all in stride;
I remember how she helped me find,
who I really was inside.
I remember her growing weaker,
and how I wished I had spent more time,
For I will remember Mom forever,
and I am so glad that she was mine.
