A Plea For Understanding
have patience with this faulty soul
and require not all the answers and reasons from me just now
make not requests for things I am at the moment unable to achieve
have patience with this faulty soul
and forgive me for all the shortcomings and mistakes I have made
and will continue to make
and the wrong roads I may end up taking
and may currently be on
bear with me for the ways I have so many plans and problems and responsibilities and requirements and bad hair days
and yet cannot get of bed
have patience with this faulty soul
for the things you know I could be but at the moment I have not become
for the way I am more of the child I should no longer be
and less of the woman to which I should be progressing
have patience with this faulty soul
for the harm caused by girlhood altars and ill advised immature loves
rash decisions
chocolate
and celebrity crushes
have patience with this faulty soul
for today standing to reach the sky
and tomorrow huddling right back to the broken ground
have patience with this faulty soul
for this journey that I am taking
and to which I have not yet found the destination
