howling wind, 
up-turned roots fill the space 
where branches once hung

    Hullo Chris.. yep... my daughter's name shares your first five letters :)..I never knew you had a daughter Chris,a very belated congrat,:).I'm sure they grow up very fast,that's why i'm cherishing every moment,trying not to spoil her,though its hard not to :).So now let me read your other haiku,i like this one..i can see the image of a natural disaster here and even feel the atmosphere surruonding the ground..Charma
