searching the horizons

 
violet tinged edge of night-   
the lights like clinging jewels  
draped over cities  
    
and as they stab the  
dark that cloaks like black winter 
coats, enveloping  
    
a streetlight dies quick  
like my mother, though I will   
search for her always
