Lakeside

the almost absent wind ….
neglects
the mirror of the lake
muffled sounds
whisper
nearly silently

a ship appears
rending the mirror
spreading her trail
leaving behind
an unabiding track

the waves disappear
the wind vanishes
the mirror closes cracks

it would be a miracle
if I could be nearer

Hi Elly, congrats on fine win. On reading this beautiful poem I imagined looking at Ullswater Lake. When I went over the comments below I noticed Theresa's mention of lake Windermere...what a coincidence...our minds both transported to the Lake District where I 've had the pleasure of spending many unforgettable visits. // paul

Hi Elly, Congrats on your win. This poem reminds me of Lake Windermere in the Lake District. U.K.. You have a winner for me if it contains wind, water and a ship. Regards Theresa xx
