Little leaf

Oh little golden leaf hanging there upon yonder tree
Colors wrought as if by the brush in an artist’s hand
A radiant colorful delight from nature’s pallet full of hue
You quiver and quake in the slightest breeze until
You break your bond and flutter gracefully to the ground
There to be blown about by wind; batten down by falling rain
Only to be swept about with all the others into a compost mound
Melted there to assist life anew providing nutrients into this land
Another spring another leaf will burst forth there upon yonder tree
