Children's Laughter

A ball thrown higher
     As breezes fall vivid leaves
          Children’s light laughter
                 Isolate and stigmatize
A lonely child in a crowd

Congratulations on winning an Honorable Mention in my contest, TANKA - THE PIVOT, Brittany. Pity about the capital letters - one of the rules of the contest. Children can be very cruel, especially to their peers. The laughter becomes almost mocking in its intent when a child is excluded. The punchline is very emotional - we all feel the pangs of loneliness more acutely when in a crowd. Love, Su
