Little Hope

Little hope glows
behind a door
Its arms stretch out
and creep through
Cautious and fragile,
it starts to grow
But fear soon denies
its light to bloom
And precious hope
crawls back through
the door
Never to emit its
warmth anymore

Little hope hides and
keeps very still
Until its heart forgets
to comfort it
Un-sought for and
weak, little hope dies
And fear consumes
what life remains
