DON'T CLOSE THE LID ON OUR LOVE

Don't close the lid on our love
The good Lord told me, from up above
That if I treat you right,
You’ll forgive me tonight
So baby don't close the lid on our love.

I've done some things that I'm not proud of
But when push comes to shove,
I know I’m losing your love
And we both know, that’s not what I want
So baby don't close the lid on our love.

Don't close the lid on our love
The good Lord told me, from up above
That if I treat you right,
You’ll forgive me tonight
So baby don't close the lid on our love.

You say you’re leaving today,
I’m begging, please baby stay,
I’ll do whatever you say
So baby don't close the lid on our love.

You will see if you cut me some slack
And if you leave the lid open a crack
I promise, I'll find my way back
Just don't close the lid on our love.

Don't close the lid on our love
The good Lord told me, from up above
That if I treat you right,
You’ll forgive me tonight,
So baby don’t close the lid on our love.

I tell you this promise anit fake,
A real effort, I'm going to make
And if you close it, my hearts going to break,
So baby don't close the lid on our love.

Don't close the lid on our love
The good Lord told me, from up above
That if I treat you right,
You’ll forgive me tonight,
So baby don't close the lid on our love.

Please don't close the lid on our
Don't close the lid,
Baby don't close the lid on our love.
