About This Poem
Fear of Entree
Now that I'm older (61) and alone,
I must admit that my fear of
someone breaking into my home
during the night continually
harasses me.
I come home each night to an
empty apartment and have to do
a thorough search to see if there
is an intruder...every night.
Even after I realize I'm safe I
have trouble sleeping and wake
during the night thinking I heard
someone trying to get into the
door.
Ridiculous really, I have
heavy iron screen doors with
two locks and then more locks
on the wooden doors. I think
I watching too many scary
movies where the thief breaks
into iron doors with an electric
saw....oh brother.
