Sunlight

Hints of gold swarms the tips of trees
a treasure chest lingers up high
and bowing in the breeze at your presence
beckoning your eyes to lift from the floor

I touch at the brilliance
and warmth bursts through my veins
wrapping me up in nature's film
protecting, collecting, dissecting thoughts

Only now is the moment
it will soon be gone and the glinting sky
will be poisoned by grey
as swirling winds brush away the sun

This is my nature
lingering thoughts echoed throughout
as day becomes night in my soul
and the beautiful day fades to another

sometimes lost; sometimes found
always at one with the world.
