Nothing is more family than a loving dog..a pity they dont live as long as we..I had a dog for thirteen yrs..we found it in the street as a puppy..then died of cancer..cared for her till the end.Your poem brought so much memories.

Man oh man Dan you sure tugged on me heart here, ive always had dogs in my life and loved them all, they will magnify the personality of the owner so if you treat them with love they can be better companions than people, well done my friend, blessings,Carl

Sorry to hear about your dog. He sounds like he was a wonderful companion. I enjoyed your poem, not at all what I expected when I read the title.

Hi Danny Boy yes some dogs do get a bad rep, I think owners make their dogs what they are, no offence lol, really enjoyed your love for your dog as a dog lover myself, all the best Big O

Here is the story on his name..We decided we wanted to get a dobberman, and I wanted to come up with a cool name for him.I was pondering names one day,and I was listening to the radio. As I was flipping thru the stations,I heard the words "Can I play with madness." I thought "what a great name" Madness..We drove 2 hrs from picking him up,and the first thing he did when we got him home was run around in circles, and go crazy in the living room in happiness. It looked like madness! And so it was...Madness :o)

Oh this is a really beautiful poem. I like the buddy part I get that he was your dog. But why madness with a capitol 'M'? Why is the dog named Madness? He is your dog and he had a short life in dog years. I get all of that but why did you choose to give him a name like Madness? Doesn't madness mean lunacy? This aspect of your poem confused me a bit. Maybe I missed something...

Hi Ayesha, I posted the comment above to kind of explain a little. He developed a tumor in his mouth, and it is cancerous... :o( If we get it removed he might only have two more months to live, and will be very uncomfertable..He's only 8yrs old! It sucks...So we are spoiling him for the next couple weeks until it gets to much for him to handle. He drips blood sometimes, and that hasn't been a treat..But what are you gonna do?
