About This Poem

Goodnight Dear P D

Go to sleep dear P.D...you need your rest
Tomorrow will be busy...got to be at your best
Children and grandchild...you know they are wild
They'll wear you out...and thats putting it mild
Oh no the resturant...you better not forget
Cooking and serving...your body wet with sweat
A shower, a shower...and you can wind down
Asleep, asleep in your bed...Not making a sound

Hi Carol, Beautiful writing. For many years I taught music to K-6 graders, and I could imagine the little ones, especially, would love to hear this poem read to them, and/or sing it as a song, as they pretend to go to sleep in their chairs or on the floor; and, of course, they could act out being wild, cooking, or showering, and then finally going to sleep. Kids just love to do that sort of thing. All Best, Orma
