About This Poem
A Ballade to Regrets
No matter what we choose everyday-
It lays hidden pain that our heart it does hold-
It seems that chance with your heart it will play-
If you stick out your neck and learn to take all the cold-
Yet it seems that in this world, no one shares the warm fold-
They are all busy on giving out the idiots most lazy bets-
So what is it that we can count on to always plan to stay?
For in the end we are left with nothing, save our regrets-
I regret the moment in time that I walked away-
I regret the decision that no more I could enfold-
I couldn't hold it out anymore, no more time for delay-
So I took my leave out into the dark and cold-
I gave away my chance to have the gold-
That all of the love we had is under barbered nets-
What do I have now that is not in a fray-
For in the end we are left with nothing, save our regrets-
I hope you know that i wish I could choose a different way-
But these words I know are way too bold-
Just know that this regret has made me pay-
I know that our memories never shall grow old-
Forever shall I miss you is what to me you told-
Like to you I have owed many great, terrible debts-
But trust me honey I know now I can walk away-
For in the end we are left with nothing, save our regrets-
You thought with me a man you could mold-
Trust me this is something a smart man forgets-
So I hope it comes, and you feel this when you are old-
For in the end we are left with nothing, save our regrets-
