Left on the Shore

Betrayed by the ones who we were wary to trust
Skeptic but silent with nowhere left to go
Enemies become familiar friends, and friends become foe
Traitors of our own flesh and blood
The breath of God used for treachery
They value us with silver circles
Like our existence has no meaning

Wounded limbs shackled and chained
Yoked together with strangers from other lands
Beads of sweat drip down, being chased by the heat
The weak grow much weaker
And our hearts turn to stone
Torn from the arms of the ones we love
Travelling many moons away from home

So many lives laid to rest on the sandy ocean floor
Devoured so viciously by the mouth of the deep
Pure innocence snuffed out by the fingers of evil
Nameless to the monsters who brand us
Faceless to the ones with bleached flesh
Dreams shattered to pieces by humanity
And buried with us in our shallow graves
