My Burning Heaven

Greens
And blues
Scatter my world
Like a painted canvas
Sidewalks are no longer gray
but a fresh shade of orange
Leaves are never green
But blazing pink
There is a piece of pond
exposed from behind a flaming red bush
It reflects the sun's light so completely
It is hard to look at
But my gaze cannot be torn
from the reflective pond
I see something in the water
I walk towards the blinding reflection
Until I am at its edge
I bend over hoping to decode the image
The ground is pulled from under me
Splash
The water acts as a brick wall but I unwillingly conquer it
As I sink deeper
Images fill my line of vision
Images that awake me from my dream
Ignorance
Intolerance
Greed
And I finally see reality
For what it truly is
Inescapable
