Norman Vincent Peale

Norman Vincent Peale
Who lived his life with religous zeal.
Witneesed his cousins leather strap demeaner.
Glad for his home, where the grass seemed greener.
He'd turn and crank the bell of his youth.
As he learned to thank God he was raised with couthe.

I read in a short story he wrote, he rang this doorbell from his grandma's old house and it would bring him back to his childhood days back in a quaint little town.

Robert, since this one is not in my contest, I thought I'd comment to it. I really like this. To be a clerihew, you only have to take out two lines. Because it can be only four lines. I think if you took out lines three and four, that would leave you with a very nice one for Norman vincent peale!! (funny how his name even sounds like a bell, since they have PEAL, right?)
