As Winter Calls

Autumn leaves fall gently swayed on the wind
Upon a tranquil peaceful rill they come to rest,
Stirred by a gentle breeze they journey easily
Drifting along amidst tiny twigs of leafy trees,
Across a river born of pristine mountain snow
Below mirrored images of fluffy white clouds
Leisurely traversing glorious crystal clear skies,

Life’s richness swanning over the mountains
Enriches the eye and uplifts the spirit within,
Springing forth patchwork quilts of wandering
Natural artistic palettes across rolling hillsides,
Of once distant souls renewed, lost recollections
Nature’s ever endearing heart song reaches out
Enlivening memories of Eden’s garden past,

Like tiny sailboats midst wide and stormy seas
Cast by eager waves they bide timeless rapids,
Rambling passengers cascading at waters edge
Overleaping glad iridescent rainbow waterfalls,
Betwixt varicolored fellow autumnal passers-by
On board nature’s enduring watery ferry ride
Till hope completes wintertime’s seasonal dance
