Spirit Takes Flight

Spirit Takes Flight
Fall season is an autumn festival
Nature’s bloomFades to an array of colors
Brilliant shades captured:
In a Indian paintbrush
A yellow cottonwood leaf
Reddish hues in an oak leaf
The vibrant orange in Japanese maple leaves
Rendering a peaceful balance
The autumn festival is a welcomed cool relief
An Indian summer
Time to prepare for the coming of Ol’man winter
For now I bask in the cool breeze
Strolling through the falling leaves
My relaxed spirit at ease in all of the
Great Spirit’s creation
You’re all around
In the whispering wind
In the billowy clouds
In the radiant sunshine
Blessing me
Alas
Your spirit takes flight
Leaving my spirit to endure
The cold winter months with
Only a blanket of snow to cover
All your beauty
To await
Nature’s bloom
The awakening
