Hullo, Joann. A forlorn topic that you penned well, highlighting the "emotional tanka response" that is so important, but unfortunately not implemented by most writers here on the Soup. Thank you for your comments on my poems. They don't go unnoticed; I have been terrible as of late when it comes to replying. As for my own tanka, I wasn't writing the form properly, so I have been practicing and practicing. I am not publicly posting my tanka, keeping them for a future project.

A very beautiful poem although quite emotional my dear, Joann. That usually happens, I think. That's one of the reasons why I've second thought of not having one as my own, ha ha ha. Thanks for sharing!!!! love/hugs:) Leonora

even though that's what's supposed to happen, it's still a bit sad and your poem has captured that beautifully!

We can't wait until they are grown and out on their own. Once they are gone, how are we to carry on? It is only for a short spell until we find a way to adapt very well. Good write.
