A write on white

Think of how “you” would describe whiteness to a blind man
Poets write of the whiteness of the lily
Artist depict the lightness of freshly fallen snow
Photographers curse the flat light when shadow does not abound
One can speak of the whiteness of the jewels a pogonip deposits upon the trees
Some have known the grip of vertigo in a whiteout of swirling fog and snow
But you have not seen whiteness; that of which none other can compare
Until you have viewed the whiteness of an eighty year old white dude
Stripped down to his underwear

Oh to be able to understand what whiteness might be to a blind man. Should I have blessed to never know light of day, yet I could speak, and listen to words, I would possibly conjure patterns of my own design for identifying that which surrounds me. These patterns would recognizable to no one, but me, When I hear or touch, these same repetitious patterns, I feel certain my mind would be a beautiful kaleidoscope of thoughts, or emotions only I could understand. Would I not... still be happy?

I like this:)) Makes me think. Many questions come to mind. I could take this for face value as a pleasurable read..or I could analyze it. Biggest question..when did this guy go blind? hehe.

A very different vision of whiteness. I'll just have to imagine what I have been missing.
