FAMILY TREE

The last maple leaf
Fell from the maple tree,
It didn't want to leave it's home
But it had no choice you see.

It was almost Winter
In this little town,
This little leaf had to go
No more to be around.

It fell upon the snow so soft
Which glistened in the sun,
Mother nature told this leaf
You will have a new day in the sun.

The crumpled little maple leaf
Wondered how this could be,
I produced a crimson glow
When September came on me.

How can I be a pretty green
When spring arrives again,
Nature smiled upon the leaf
For you it's not the end.

You left behind upon the tree
Such tiny little buds,
Life for you is not over,
Your family tree has just begun.
