Resignation

She gathers roses
with the grace of one
who challenged grief and won.

In waning light, with lanterns lit,
she settles to her solitude,
as the darkening warm evening
wraps her tight, and leaves
her to her dreams,

dreams of love and faith
that will sustain her now he's gone,
but not forgotten.

keith - it's always such a pleasure to read one of your poems. i love the alliteration and the "darkening warm evening" that "wraps her tight" - that is just gorgeous! i want more!
