The Echoes of Tomorrow

Face beaten red
Like a saddened Indian summer

A leap of faith during minute's broken arm

I drink glasses of chagrin
To heal away the maddening sighs

Bashful smile
Masking what could have been

I sip teardrop renditions
From waterfalls core

Reflections of love's breath
Emanate across lacerated truffles

Horse & carriage gallop without a guide
Following uneasy departures

Windows to the soul, cracked

Heart's chasm, held
Embraced, lost

Unattainable intelligence
Question marks become torn commas
A punctual silence begging to hold me again

My laughter at wit's end with precociousness

Caressing silken draperies
A chameleon to uncomfortable thoughts
Nighttime penetration of the beast inside

Turning her back

The wanted become the forgotten

A gently removed lily petal
Floating unto a warm, foggy madrigal

Misinterpreted apathy
My benign truth
A simple whisper of this fight
With a fluttering sigh

This war

Between good morning and
Goodbye

An unwanted but embraced conflict Drake - a masterful blend of metaphor & similie, quite professional - this elegant poem makes seperation, from many things seem better than possession of comfort - J.A.B. %

Hey Justin. I am quite thankful for your thoughts on this. On that surface, that's what it seems. Just on the surface...thanks so much!

Hi Nette!!! I like my palate to have a little bit of everything during flight. Thank you kindly! "Unusual"? I'm ok with that. :)

These echoes have already become reality, but change is always around the corner, another day, another season, a different whisper, a source of fresh water to drink... :) Great job with this one! Thanks for the kind comments on my poems. Caroline.
