Circus Light's

Everything became but a bizarre act in vague....
Yet no one seemed to mind and, tis been so long
Shifting pods while moving props; when in Rome
Do what the mockingbirds do ? Strip the feathers
Then the fowls; pin them, unto the donkeys tail's....
...."Circus Light's" ˜

I am at a loss as to the message of this poem. Mixed metaphors par excellence! :-)
