Green Glowing Moon

In the light Of the green glowing moon A witch’s brew It holds evil within Ingredients of hate Simmering nearby Some Jack-O-Lanterns With deadly looks They keep guard Watching for anything good That might try to taint The skulls all glow real bright Helping the pumpkins watch They laugh at hope And tear down walls of love With forceful hate

A captivating poem about Halloween. I was smiling reading the first few verses, but the last one is quite sad. I think I'll need to hide behind a tree on Halloween so I don't see these spooky sights! Thanks for your support, Russell. Love, Carolyn

Russell, if I were a kid ....and not just a kid at heart...and I read your poem I would not go out on Halloween Night, at all. I would be so scared of every pumpkin, Jack-O-Lantern, skulls and anything looking like a witch. LOL. Your words have the desired effect my friend. Great write! One love. Joy Wells

Laugh at hope and tear down walls of love--powerful symbols and analogies Russell and moves beyond the frightening side of Halloween to evils we live with everyday!
